The Hand Behind Flourish Grace Calligraphy
Hey everyone!! This is Sarah, the hand behind Flourish Grace Calligraphy. I am a calligrapher, illustrator, and graphic designer based out of northeastern Pennsylvania but enjoy calligraphing for brides worldwide. I want to take some time today to tell you a little about myself and about how calligraphy can add a classic yet unique element of charm to your wedding day.
Since I was in grade school I have been fascinated by handwriting. I took the time over those early years to study and mimic different handwriting styles and always looked forward to Christmas time when our mailbox would be flooded with hand-addressed cards.
I dreamed of being a part of the wedding industry for years and naturally when the stars aligned I realized that I could use this gift of writing to be a calligrapher and I could not be happier. It is truly a passion for me and I get so much joy out of working with a couple to create something for their best day ever!
Modern calligraphy is an amazing thing. Having an arsenal of scripts makes it so that we can truly customize each piece for each couple; from classic to whimsical we offer something to fit your unique theme.
So why choose to hire a calligrapher? Calligraphy is an added touch that takes the something ordinary, an address, to extraordinary and shows your attention to detail. Your envelopes are usually the first glimpse your guests will get into your wedding and it leaves them with the mindset of anticipation for a truly special event. It’s a small touch that goes a long way. Since you spend a lot of time, and usually a fair amount of money, on the perfect invitation, calligraphy is the bow that ties it together into a perfect package.
In addition to wedding envelopes there are so many details that can be done by hand for the day of the wedding. From a “Here Comes the Bride” sign for your ring bearer to carry, to escort cards, or custom signature drink sign the possibilities are endless.
Lastly I just want to say thank you for seeking out and supporting local artists! Every time I see this quote I get tears in my eyes from the truth behind it. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support! “When you buy from a small business you are not helping a CEO buy a third home. You are helping a little girl get dance lessons, a little boy get his team jersey, a mom or dad put food on the table, a family pay a mortgage, or a student pay for college. Our customers are our shareholders and they are the ones we strive to make happy. Thank you for supporting small businesses.”
